Music has been a huge part of my life ever since I began taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old. Thanks to my mother's persistence during those years when it wasn't cool to be a guy taking piano lessons, I can now agree with her "some day you'll thank me" statement. Once my ears were opened to the likes of Bob Dylan, Eric Burden and the Animals, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, Bach and Beethoven classics were no longer satisfying my musical hunger. I began playing in garage bands when I was a junior in high school and haven't stopped since (we still rehearse in a converted garage today!). I've spent most of my life right here in Oneonta's "Lower Deck", with the exception of about 8 years when I lived in Washington DC. While there, I was fortunate enough to play with some very talented musicians, gain an understanding of some of the less pleasant sides of the music business, and develop a deep respect and love for Rockabilly, Country and Blue Grass music. When I came back to Oneonta, the bands that I was in were mainly country music bands, with the most memorable being the nearly 10 years that I spent playing with Ellen Harrington and The Smokin' Guns, however my love for classic rock-n-roll always simmered below the surface and after Smokin’ Guns ran its course, Marc Spaz called me and asked if I'd be interested in playing in an all Beatles cover band. Of course, I jumped at the chance and that band eventually morphed into the Roundhouse Rockers. I can't imagine a time in my life when I'm not playing music, and I expect that much and of my time ahead will continue to be with The Roundhouse Rockers. I'm looking forward to it.
